The Zoo

Since it was Labour Day today, my parents took me and my little sister to the zoo.  It was nice of them to do that for us, and I had a lot of fun.

The zoo we went to actually wasn't that huge, but it was very natural and forest-y, if that's actually a word.  The animals were placed in locations that resembled their own natural habitats, instead of cages made of concrete like the ones in China.  Logically, we didn't go to see the animals...the animals came to see us.

First, we went to see the giraffes.  They were so gentle, and they didn't say a single word at all.  Why?  Because they're mute, of course.  <.<  Didn't know that?  Well, that's knowledge to you then.  ^_^  There were 3 giraffes:  A couple and their offspring.

Those two starting flirting everywhere, lol.  Their child wasn't watching, thankfully.  ^_^  Anyways, one of the giraffes really liked me, and he (or she) kept on licking the glass where my hand was.  It was so sweet.
We also saw some lions and tigers.  A woman was feeding them, and there was a huge audience watching her.  Those cats can eat!
It was kind of scary watching those lion cubs pounce on the fence, but oh, it was fun anyhow.
We also saw some hippos, flamingos, and all sorts of other things.  Here are the hippos:
We also took a train tour through the zoo with a bunch of other people and a guide who pointed out all the different animals and such.
After we all felt stuffy and couldn't breathe in any more animal stink, we headed on home.  But we did make a stop on the way:  McDonalds!  Yay, lunch!  We got burgers, fries, and some drinks.  Though unhealthy, that stuff does cheer you up.
Home, sweet, home.  I was so relieved once we finally made it back.  The sun had come out, which made us look like total dumbies since we were dressed in heavy winter clothing (what?  It was cold in the morning).
I don't think I'm ever going back to that zoo again, but I did have some fun.  The animals there were perky and well-attended to.  But ugh...it was a long five hours...(In truth, four hours and fifty-three minutes if you're picky.)
-Vociferously yours, Vicky.
