Princess and the Pea Chapter 26

26 Chapters, but only 20 pages on my Microsoft Word document.  Lol.

Chapter 26:
“Ridiculous, Princess Marilynn. This is utterly ridiculous.” Prince Samson heaved and groaned as Princess Marilynn climbed on top of his shoulders.
“Wait…Just one more second!” Marilynn reached for the window. She stepped on her tippy toes, much to Samson’s discomfort, and with a grunt, she managed to reach her destination.
She peered out the window. To her joyful surprise, there were ropes outside. The ropes were just on the grass. How convenient, Marilynn thought.
Prince Samson couldn’t take it anymore. He struggled under Marilynn’s weight, and he toppled over. Marilynn fell down with him, letting out a scream. “Ouch!” She groaned, clearly displeased. “Oh, seriously…” Marilynn rubbed her head painfully.
“How much do you weigh?” Samson rubbed his head too.
Marilynn ignored him, and turned to the two kings and queens. “There are ropes outside,” she said. “If one of us could somehow escape through the window…We’d all be saved.”
“But who?” Queen Lily asked, incredulous. “Who could do such a thing?”
Marilynn smiled, and turned her head to Prince Samson. “You make a fine ladder, Prince,” she chuckled. “If you could let me climb onto you again…”
Prince Samson immediately shook his head. “No way, Princess. You are far too heavy for me to support.”
But through arguing and protests, finally Prince Samson caved in. Marilynn climbed onto his shoulders again, and once again peered out the window. “C’mon, I can do this…” One, two, three, and Marilynn pushed herself off Prince Samson and she fell out the window. She screamed as she landed onto the grass.
“Are you alright, dear?” King William was worried.
“I’m fine, Father!” Marilynn yelled back. “Here, I’ve got the ropes.”
Marilynn threw one side of one of the ropes back into the prison through the window. Soon, she felt pressure. She heaved and pulled, and soon, Prince Samson came out. Then, the two of them worked on freeing Queen Sandra, Queen Lily, King William, and King Henry. After a while, everyone was free.
They sat down, breathing heavily. “Now that we’re free,” King Henry wheezed, “What’s next to do?”

-Vociferously yours, Vicky.
