Princess and the Pea Chapter 19

Nineteen used to be my student number...Whatever, that's irrelevant.

Chapter 19:
A blue mist enveloped the pea, and out of the second crease, a bubble came out. It started out small, but it became bigger and bigger until it was almost half the size of an adult human. Marilynn and Samson backed away slowly.
“What is that?” Samson whispered at Marilynn.
“I don’t know. Ssh, just watch it!”
The bubble reached its maximum size. It bobbled there for a second, and then out of nowhere, two figures appeared inside it. Their silhouettes fizzled and slowly became clear. Two people of royalty, wearing gowns and robes, were stuck inside it.
Prince Samson blinked twice, not believing his eyes. Those two figures were his parents! “Mother…Queen Lilly…Is that you? Father…King Henry…Is that you?”
Marilynn turned to Samson incredulously. “Your parents are trapped inside that bubble?”
Queen Lily pounded against the bubble. Her voice came out in soft echoes. “Samson, Marilynn…Please save us…!”
King Henry looked at them with sad eyes. “We both got captured by the witches, son. It’s up to you now, to stop them…”
The silhouettes faded. “No!” Prince Samson whispered painfully. “Don’t go…!”
The bubble itself shrank and shrank, and finally disappeared into the second crease of the tiny pea.
Marilynn and Samson were silent for a few moments. Samson spoke up. “We have to save them!”
“I know. We have to take the pea…”
Marilynn closed the lid of the pea case and picked it up. “Come on, let’s go –…”
She was interrupted, for the door of Linda’s room suddenly opened. Fiona stepped in, armed with her spear. She snarled at them. “You…! I knew I shouldn’t have trusted you!”
Marilynn and Samson automatically brought their arms up in surrender. The pea case tumbled to the ground.
“You scoundrels come with me!” Fiona led them down the hall, spear at their throats.
Samson sighed. How were they going to get out of this one?

-Vociferously yours, Vicky.
